Live updates of JEE top results
New Delhi:
JEE 2020 main result live updates: The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the main test of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) nationwide, is expected to declare the results soon. The JEE Main, held September 1-6, is for admission to the BTech, BArch, and BPlanning programs in engineering, architecture, and planning. A total of 8.58 lakhs of candidates had registered for the exam. Around 6.35 lakh of candidates, less than 75% of the total, finally took the exams. The JEE Main takes place twice a year. The first, in January, was written for more than 10 lakh. The second JEE Main 2020 was scheduled for April, but had to be postponed multiple times due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The JEE Main 2020 took place amid strong resistance from a student section and the government of various states. They opposed the decision to conduct tests amid the COVID-19 outbreak and flooding. The number of COVID-19 cases was increasing and the two crises had disrupted critical public services such as transportation. However, on August 17, the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the NTA, allowing it to conduct examinations. It subsequently rejected multiple requests to review that order and postpone JEE Main 2020 and also the medical entrance exam, NEET 2020.
The examinations were carried out with the central and state government ministries that took steps to help by providing public transportation, opening hotels and hostels, and operating special trains.
Live updates
The NTA will declare the JEE Main 2020 results for around 6.35 lakh of students who wrote it for admission to undergraduate courses in engineering and architecture.

JEE Mains 2020 and COVID-19
The April exams were postponed several times once the spread of COVId-19 began to grow. Each time the NTA postponed the exam, it also reopened the “correction window” that allows registered candidates to change their choice of test center city. The reason for doing this was that the closure of COVID-19 resulted in thousands of candidates leaving the towns and cities where they were preparing for the exam and returning to their places of origin. In August, the NTA said that more than 99% of candidates had been assigned the exam city of their choice.
