Chitrangada Singh in media trial in Sushant Singh Rajput death case: ‘The fight for justice must be for all’ – bollywood

Actor Chitrangada Singh has criticized the current ‘media judgment’ of actor Rhea Chakraborty, in connection with the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput. Rhea, the late actor’s girlfriend, has been accused of being an accessory to her suicide and was recently arrested for buying drugs by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

Insisting that justice must be equal for all and that the accused cannot be treated as guilty until proven, Chitrangada told The Times of India: “It definitely bothers me because sometimes it is too extreme. You want to sit down and judge people and their moral character so easily. I feel that one should refrain from doing it because it is affecting people and their families so much. Yes, I believe in justice, but the fight for justice must be for everyone. A person is innocent until proven guilty. There is a popular saying: ‘It is better for 10 guilty men to go free than an innocent man mistakenly convicted.

“Media tests can cause a lot of damage to a person’s life. Suppose, hypothetically speaking, what happens if this person is found not guilty in the end? So much damage has already been done to them and their social tranquility and it is not fair. One should sit back and think about it as much as we seek justice. You need to observe a bit of moral decency. Let the law take its course. It may take time, but in the meantime, we should be a little compassionate. What if Rea is not guilty? Think about ‘what ifs’ before making judgments, “he added.

Sushant was found dead at his Mumbai residence on June 14. Currently, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) and the NCB are investigating various angles in the case.

While Sushant’s fans and family have been consistent in her allegations against Rhea, a section of the film industry reached out to support her earlier this week.
