PATNA: Senior Leader of RJD Raghuvansh Prasad Singh on Thursday he resigned from the party. In a letter addressed to the party chairman, Lalu Prasad, Singh said that he had supported the head of the RJD for 32 years after the death of Karpoori Thakur, but that he will no longer do so.
Raghuvansh is currently in post-Covid-19 treatment at AIIMS-Delhi, from where he wrote this letter of resignation. His resignation before the assembly elections in Bihar has shocked the RJD. “We will definitely suffer from his absence. He is the founder of our party, ”said a party leader.
Raghuvansh was upset with the party, after the muscular Rama Singh made an announcement about his joining the RJD. Following Rama’s announcement, Singh had resigned from the position of the party’s national vice president while undergoing treatment for Covid-19 at AIIMS-Patna, after which Rama’s entry was suspended.
“He was also unhappy with RJD state chairman Jagdanand Singh, another Rajput who was given more responsibilities in the party. The duo do not share a very cordial relationship, ”said a senior RJD leader.
However, JDU has welcomed Raghuvansh’s decision and criticized the RJD for not treating such a high-level leader well.
