Red Line, Violet Line, Green Line resume services after 172 days
The Red Line, Violet Line and Green Line of the Delhi Metro resumed their services on Thursday after being closed for 172 days due to the COVID-19 pandemic, authorities said.
Yellow Line and Rapid Metro were the first to reopen on Monday, followed by Blue Line and Pink Line on Wednesday.
“Seven lines of the Delhi metro network are now open! Thank you dear travelers for following safety guidelines and helping us maintain good service. #MetroBackOnTrack, ”DMRC tweeted after the three new lines resumed their services.
Services on the Red Line, the Violet Line and the Green Line resumed at 7 am, authorities said.
On Monday, the Delhi Metro resumed partial services on the Yellow Line.

India records a single-day record peak of 95,735 cases
India records a record single-day increase of 95,735 infections and 1,172 new deaths, bringing India’s number of COVID-19 cases to 44.65,863 and the death toll to 75,062. The numbers were published by the Union Ministry of Health in its daily update.
With this, the number of active cases of COVID-19 has reached 9,19,018. Up to 34,71,783 people have recovered from the infection, according to the government.

Convalescent plasma therapy (CP) did not benefit coronavirus (COVID-19) patients, the largest trial conducted in 39 hospitals in India and spearheaded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) was found.

Two policemen deployed to UP Minister Suresh Rana’s security in Shamli district have tested positive for COVID-19, an official said Thursday.

SFI urges West Bengal to lift September 12 lockdown for the benefit of NEET candidates
The SFI, the student wing of the CPI (M), has urged the West Bengal government to lift the state lockdown on September 12 for the benefit of NEET candidates who will take the exam the next day.
The West Bengal government declared a blockade on the state on September 7, 11 and 12.
The lockdown will inconvenience a large number of National Eligibility Test cum Entry (NEET) candidates to reach their exam centers from remote areas on September 13, said the chairman of the state committee of the Federation of Students of India ( SFI), Pratik ur Rahman, in a statement Wednesday.
“We ask the state government to lift the September 12 blockade, as the candidates are already facing a lot of stress due to the pandemic situation. The blockade will further aggravate their problems, since the number of vehicles will be less on the roads, “he said.
The SFI said that if authorities cannot lift the September 12 lockdown, they should at least organize special trains for candidates on the date of the exam.

All non-Singaporean travelers to India and permanent residents will be required to take a coronavirus test within 72 hours before departing for Singapore starting next Thursday, in a move to reduce the number of imported cases from the country.
Travelers will have to submit a valid negative test result to be taken within 72 hours before their flight to Singapore, the Health Ministry said in a statement Wednesday night.
