Just a year after announcing his retirement from cricket, Yuvraj Singh could soon return. A report in Cricbuzz claims that Yuvraj has decided to come out of retirement to play national cricket for Punjab. Cricket is currently detained in India due to Covid-19 but Yuvraj conducted two long camps at the behest of the Punjab Cricket Association, at the PCA stadium in Mohali, where he took young Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, Prabhsimran Singh and Anmolpreet Singh under his wings and helped train them.
It appears that the practice session helped the former player from India rediscover his passion for cricket and Yuvraj now wants to play for Punjab in the T20 tournament to help the youngsters in their development, according to the report.

“Initially, I wasn’t sure I wanted to accept the offer,” Yuvraj told Cricbuzz.
“I was done with national cricket, although I wanted to continue playing in other national franchise-based leagues around the world if I got permission from BCCI. But neither could he ignore Mr Bali’s request. I thought about it a lot, for almost three or four weeks, and it was almost as if in the end I didn’t even have to make a conscious decision.
“As things are now, I will play only T20 if I get the go-ahead,” Yuvraj said. “But who knows, let’s see.”
There were reports that Yuvraj was looking for a club to play in the Australian Big Bash League. But now he has confirmed that if he plays in the Punjab, he will not look for opportunities to play in foreign leagues. He has written a letter to BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah, asking for permission to play in Punjab and come out of retirement, according to the report.
