Redmi 9i is set to launch in India on September 15. The next phone will be placed alongside the new Redmi 9, Redmi 9A and Redmi 9 Prime phones in the series. Xiaomi has confirmed that the Redmi 9i will be available online on the Mi.com and Flipkart sites. The phone is said to have 4GB of RAM and has a waterdrop-style notch just like the other Redmi 9 series phones. It is also confirmed to run on MIUI 12 software.
Xiaomi has adopted Twitter to announce the launch of the Redmi 9i in India on September 15. The availability of the phone has been confirmed on Mi.com and Flipkart. It teases having 4GB of RAM and sporting a waterdrop-style notch display. A dedicated page has also been posted on Mi.com showing the key features of the Redmi 9i. It is considered to offer compatibility with 3.5mm audio connectors and has all the physical buttons on the right edge of the screen. The page suggests a blue color option for the Redmi 9i, but more variants are expected to be unveiled at the launch event.
The Redmi 9i also has a large screen and offers microSD card support for storage expansion. The smartphone can offer gaming-centric features, in-camera optimizations, and also teases that it has a large battery. As mentioned, the phone runs on MIUI 12. Other than this, little else is known about the Redmi 9i as of now. It should be priced in the same range as the Redmi 9, Redmi 9A, and Redmi 9 Prime, that is, it should start below Rs. 10,000 support.
The specifications of the Redmi 9i are not known at the moment, but Xiaomi should offer all the details along with the official price during the event next week.
