In a series of revelations, Amir Khan’s forgotten brother Faisal Khan (known for his film ‘Mela’) has alleged that he was forcibly given the wrong medication and that his family kept him under house arrest for a year. In an interview with Bollywood Hungama, the actor who is now making his directorial debut denied rumors of his mental illness.
Faisal Khan stated that there was misinformation about the production of his next film. “I am not associated with Lal Singh Chaddha or Amir Khan Productions as of now. Six years ago he had left the Amir Khan production ”, he clarified.
Khan dismissed the talks about his depression and mental illness as a lie. “I was never depressed or paranoid schizophrenic,” he said. However, he made some serious accusations against his family. “When my family assumed that I was depressed and had paranoid schizophrenia, they kept me under house arrest for a year. They gave me forceful medication that is not right and is illegal, “he revealed. “I was tolerating everything in silence in the hope that they would finally understand it.”
Faisal Khan said he had to flee his home after his family asked him to give up his signatory rights because they thought it was not normal. This was followed by a court case. Khan has further stated that there was a legal battle over his mental aptitude and that it was deemed normal after an evaluation by JJ Hospital.
In a 2015 interview with Indian Express, Faisal Khan also stated that he never suffered from a mental illness and the court’s verdict has shown this.
If Sushant had a mental illness, he wouldn’t have been able to work on movies, says Faisal Khan
Speaking about the mysterious death of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Khan said: “Look, the movie line and the acting are complicated things. If a person is bipolar, they will not be able to act. Because it is hard work to perform in front of people. But he was doing well and he was making hit movies. I do not know what is the problem. Things will unfold ”. He said there was nepotism and groupism in the industry, which was very bad. “The sad part is that there is groupism and people support their own people. This is ‘Kalyug’ and the industry is no different, ”he said. However, he also said that people might get their first chance, but ultimately they have to prove themselves, otherwise they cannot survive in the industry.
Leveling the serious charge against director and producer Karan Johar, whose name has been associated with nepotism in the industry, Khan said that Johar mistreated him at Amir Khan’s 50th birthday party. “If you’re a failure, they don’t look at you either. They don’t treat you well. This is what happened to me on my brother’s 50th birthday. I was, you know, belittled by … I don’t want to take this person’s name. Karan Johar acted weird to me and tried to put me down. He insulted me when I was talking to a person, just trying to connect with the person.
However, contrary to Faisal Khan’s claims about his mental health, Aamir Khan made a statement in 2007 in which he said that his brother was declared mentally ill by the doctors at JJ Hospital. He had also told her that he had even asked for custody of his brother, but the court granted it to his father.
