Kannada actress Sanjjanaa Galrani was questioned when the Bengaluru police expanded their investigation into the illegal drug market and its alleged links to the Kannada film industry. The actor’s questioning comes days after the arrest of another Kannada actress, Ragini Dwivedi, on drug trafficking charges.

Searches were carried out at Ms. Galrani’s home this morning by the Central Crime Division of the Bengaluru Police after obtaining a search warrant from a court. She has been taken to the office of the Central Crime Division for questioning.

Ragini Dwivedi was arrested on Friday after her home was searched that morning. In addition to her, two people named Rahul and Viren Khanna were arrested. Ragini Dwivedi is in police custody, which was extended for another five days on Monday.

Sanjjanaa Galrani has been under the radar of the criminal branch since her friend Rahul, a real estate agent, was charged in connection with the drug case, authorities said.

So far, six people have been arrested in the drug case.

Police arrested one K Ravishankar, who has ties to the Kannada film industry, in connection with the drug case on Thursday and a court has sent him into police custody for five days. He is an employee of the Office of Road Transport.

According to the police, Viren Khanna is a great match. “He (Khanna) is the main person organizing big drug parties. He was in Delhi and two CCB police inspectors had gone to Delhi and arrested him,” the Joint Police Commissioner (Crime) said last Friday. from Bengaluru, Sandeep Patil. .

Ms. Galrani was born in Bengaluru. She made her film debut in a Tamil movie “Seer of Oru Kadhal“in 2006. He has also acted in the movie Kannada”Ganda Hendathi“.

A couple of weeks ago, Kannada filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh, brother of journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh, appeared before the criminal branch and shared information about the alleged use of drugs in the Kannada film industry.
