There have not been many Indian players who have played in foreign leagues. BCCI has a rule in place that they do not allow active players to participate in foreign leagues. Players must obtain a Certificate of No Objection (NOC) from BCCI to play in foreign leagues, but they only get it after retiring from national and international cricket.

However, a report in the Sydney Morning Herald claims that fans could see one of India’s best cricketers participate in Australia’s Big Bash League. It is reported that Yuvraj Singh, who retired from international cricket last year, wants to participate in the T20 event.
The BBL has yet to see the involvement of an Indian cricketer since its inception, and with reports of a club’s enthusiasm to sign Yuvraj, that could soon change. Yuvraj is free to play in any foreign league after retiring from international cricket and the IPL. He even received a NOC from BCCI to play in Global T20 Canada last year.

Yuvraj’s manager, Jason Warne of W Sports & Media, confirmed that Cricket Australia was trying to find a franchise that was interested in the 38-year-old former Indian cricketer. “We are working with CA to try to find him a home,” Warne said Monday.
The same report said that interest in Yuvraj from BBL clubs is “modest” at the moment. The 2011 World Cup player’s push to join the BBL comes when Australian Cricketers Association President Shane Watson said that including Indian players in the competition would be “incredible” for the competition.
“It would be amazing for them to be able to play in these tournaments. That is the ideal situation. There are so many world class T20 players in India who are not playing for India that they could potentially be available to play at Big Bash and other tournaments around the world, ”he said. “If that can happen, that would make a big difference.”
Shane Warne had also wanted the former captain of India, MS Dhoni, to participate in the completion ‘One Hundred’.
