Actor Rhea Chakraborty has filed a police complaint with the Mumbai police against Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister Priyanka Singh and a few others for acquiring a ‘false medical prescription’ for the actor. Rhea has said in her complaint that Sushant died five days after her sister Priyanka received the prescription so the actor could have access to anxiety medication.
Rhea has said that an FIR must be filed against Priyanka, Dr. Tarun Kumar of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospita, and a few others under the IPC, the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act, and the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines. She said in her complaint: “It is imperative that the actions of Priyanka Singh, Dr. Tarun Kumar and others be investigated and that it be determined how they came to provide the deceased with such a false and illegal prescription.”
Filed on the basis of WhatsApp exchanges between the actor and his sister, the complaint says that Sushant was shown as a patient of the Outpatient Department at RML hospital when he was in Mumbai on June 8. According to the chats, three medications were prescribed for Sushant. Priyanka Singh asked Sushant to take Librium for a week, Nexito every day, and Lonazep for “whenever there is an anxiety attack.” Rhea’s complaint said the prescription appeared “counterfeit and fabricated” as the drugs cannot be prescribed electronically.
The WhatsApp exchanges occurred on June 8, the same day that Rhea left the actor’s home. Sushant died on June 14. The family has said so far that they did not know that Sushant had any mental health problems. “The family only knew that he was prone to ‘ghabrahat’ (anxiety),” the family’s lawyer, Vikas Singh, said at a news conference on Wednesday, noting that his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was behind any psychological problems that could have had the actor. “The family never accepted that they suffered from depression. His mental health deteriorated after Rhea Chakraborty came into his life, ”he said.
Rhea is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation, the Directorate of Enforcement and the Office of Narcotics Control following an incitement to suicide and a misuse of funds complaint filed by Sushant’s father in Patna in July. NCB is questioning her on a ‘drug-related’ angle in the case.
