Rhea Chakraborty grilled by NCB for 6 hours


Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty, who was preparing for a possible arrest by the NCB on Sunday, was allowed to leave the anti-narcotics agency office here after a grueling six-hour interrogation session.

She is likely to be summoned again on Monday, as the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which arrested her brother Showik on Friday, continues its investigations into the angle of drugs emerging in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.


According to preliminary information, Rhea was questioned primarily by NCB detectives about the narcotics angle that now surrounds Sushant’s death.

Rhea, who did not appear to be nervous when she left, was questioned by several NCB detective teams at the agency’s zoned office on the third floor of the Exchange Building on the Ballard Estate, before she was finally allowed to go home after 6 pm in your own vehicle.

Earlier Sunday, an NCB team that included Sameer Wankhede, who is leading the investigation, and an official had picked Rhea up from her home at PrimRose Apartments in Santacruz, but she opted to ride in her own car along with a Mumbai police escort. , amid speculation that she would be arrested.

The 28-year-old actress, who has already been questioned by the Central Directorate of Investigation and Enforcement, arrived at the NCB office for questioning a day after her brother was sent into NCB custody until September 9. .

In addition to Showik, Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda, domestic helper Dipesh Sawant, and drug dealers Abdel Basit Parihar and Zaid Vilatra are also in NCB cuctody.

In a statement, issued through her attorney Satish Maneshinde, Rhea said she was “innocent” and would fully cooperate with the investigations.

“Rhea Chakraborty is ready to be arrested because this is a witch hunt and if loving someone is a crime, she will face the consequences of her love,” Maneshinde said.

He added that, being innocent, he has not approached any court seeking advance bail in all the cases charged by the Bihar Police, now with the CBI, ED and NCB.

In a statement late Saturday, Rhea and Showik’s father, Lt. Col. Indrajit Chakraborty (Ret.) Condemned the arrest of his son by the NCB.

“Congratulations India, you have arrested my son, I’m sure my daughter (Rhea) is next in line and I don’t know who will be next,” he said.

“You have effectively demolished a middle class family. But of course, for the sake of justice, everything is justified. Jai Hind,” said the retired army doctor.

In its pretrial detention petition against Showik on Saturday, the NCB had hinted that Rhea would be summoned to join the investigation, as the agency hopes to “uproot the citadel of drugs from Bollywood and Mumbai.”

Although Rhea had previously denied using drugs, she had reportedly admitted that Sushant used to use marijuana and, despite her best efforts, was unable to control it.
