Mumbai: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut alleged today that the Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was blaming the gods for the failure of India’s economy and called it an insult to Hindutva.
In his weekly Rokhthok column on the Sena Saamana spokesman, Raut also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi talks about all the issues, but refuses to touch on the subject of “economy in crisis” and related issues.
What kind of Hindutva is this said? Asked Raut.
Is this an insult to Hindutva?
Last month, Sitharaman said the economy has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, which is an “act of God,” and will see a contraction in the current fiscal.
“If the gods are found guilty, in which court should the trial take place?” Raut wrote, responding to Sitharaman’s comments, adding that from demonetization to shutdown, the economy is completely paralyzed, but the finance minister directly blamed the gods for it.
Raut said the minister’s comments did not suit the country that calls itself an emerging economic superpower.
‘India’s economy collapses even before the COVID-19 pandemic’
Saying that India’s economy was crumbling even before the COVID-19 pandemic, Raut attributed the drop in GDP to human error and careless attitude.
“The coronavirus pandemic and the collapsed economy is God’s will. So what is the need for government and army? God will take care of everything, ”he said.
An act of God is a natural catastrophe that cannot be prevented, such as an earthquake, a tidal wave, a volcanic eruption, a hurricane or a tornado.
Shiv Sena’s ally in the Maharashtra Congress, also attacked the Center for the economic situation in the country with Rahul Gandhi saying that the GST is one of the main reasons for the “historical decrease of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is the Tax Gabbar Singh (GST) of the Modi government ”.
