RRB NTPC 2020: Over a year and a half after the recruitment notifications for the 2019 NTPC and Group D (Non-Technical Popular Categories) exams, the Railroad Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced that pending exams will be held for the vacant positions. as of December 15. The delay, according to the Ministry of Railways, was due to the ongoing process of selecting a new testing agency.
The Minister of Railways, Piyush Goyal, said earlier in Parliament: “To fix the Examination Agency (ECA), open tenders have been presented. After fixing the ECA, the dates of the exams will be announced ”. The Railroad Board launched a tender for the test conducting agency (ECA) in March.
The ministry has received more than 2.42 billion applications for vacancies of 1.40 lakh. Details of the exam schedule will be published soon. Hiring exams will be conducted for three categories: popular non-technical category, isolated and ministerial category, and level-one employee categories.
There are 35,208 vacancies for NTPC (non-technical popular categories), including job guard, clerk, business clerk, etc., 1,663 vacancies for isolated and ministerial categories, which means work in stenographer and equivalent position, and 1 , 03,769 vacancies for level 1 positions, including those of track maintainers, etc.
RRB NTPC Recruitment 2020: Paper Pattern
The exam will last two hours and 120 minutes for PwBD candidates accompanied by a notary while for the other categories it will be 90 minutes. There will be a negative score and a third of the score will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
Stage 1 CBT is selective in nature and standard questioning based on the curriculum and educational standards prescribed for the positions. Once the result is announced, the standardized exam score will be used for the preselection of candidates for the second stage according to their merit.

General intelligence and reasoning: analogies, completion of number and alphabetic series, encoding and decoding, mathematical operations, similarities and differences, relationships, analytical reasoning, syllogism, confusion, Venn diagrams, puzzles, data sufficiency, statement-conclusion, statement- courses of Action, decision making, maps, interpretation of graphs, etc.
C. General Awareness: Current Events of National and International Significance, Games and Sports, Indian Art and Culture, Indian Literature, Monuments and Places of India, General Sciences and Life Sciences (up to 10th CBSE), History of India and Freedom Struggle, Physics, Social and Economic Geography of India and the World, Politics and Governance of India: Constitution and Political System, General Scientific and Technological Developments including India’s Nuclear and Space Program, the UN and other major world organizations, Environmental Issues Relating to India and the World at Large, Computer Basics and Computer Applications, Common Abbreviations, Transportation Systems in India, Indian Economy, Famous Indian and World Famous Personalities, flagship government programs, Indian flora and fauna, major Indian government and public sector organizations, etc.
RRB NTPC: Vacancy and Payment Details
Minimum percentage of qualifications for eligibility in various categories
UR-40%, EWS40%, OBC (non-creamy layer) -30%, SC-30%, ST-25%. These percentages of eligibility qualifications can be relaxed by 2 percent for PwBD candidates in the event of a shortage of PwBD candidates versus the vacancies reserved for them.
