8 month old girl out of five succumbs in Mohali: the Tribune India

The district today reported five Covid-induced deaths and 172 new cases. Up to 79 patients were discharged from the hospital in the last 24 hours.

An eight-month-old girl became the youngest Covid fatality in Mohali. Today she succumbed to the virus at PGI in Chandigarh. The patient, a Phase 1 resident, was admitted to the hospital on September 3. “The cause of her death is septic shock and Covid pneumonia,” said a Health Department official. A 60-year-old man from Kurali took his last breath at the Patiala GMCH. A 52-year-old woman from Dera Bassi died at PGI.

A 60-year-old man from Mohali also died in Patiala hospital. He suffered from an autoimmune disease. A 65-year-old man from Kansal, who was a diabetes patient, succumbed at GMCH-32, Chandigarh.

Among the new cases emerging today in the district, Mohali reported 55, Kharar (24), Gharuan (38), Dhakoli (28), Dera Bassi (9), Boothgarh and Kurali (7), Lalru (3) and Banur (one ).

So far, the district has witnessed a total of 4,667 Covid cases, of which 2,146 are active. Up to 2,422 patients have been discharged from the hospital and 99 have lost their lives.
