5 deaths, 203 infections in Chandigarh: The Tribune India

Five deaths and 203 new cases of Covid were reported in the city. With this, the UT toll rose to 68 and the bill to 5,268.

Three of the five deaths reported today were in patients older than 70 years. The test report of an 80-year-old man from Sector 19, who had heart problems, chronic kidney injury, diabetes and hypertension, came back positive today. The patient had taken his last breath at the PGI on Wednesday. A 72-year-old man from Sector 52 with heart problems, diabetes and hypertension died today at the PGI. Another 72-year-old Raipur Khurd man with hypertension and Bell’s palsy died at Government Medical College and Hospital in Sector 32. Yet another Covid death was of a 51-year-old woman from Sector 32, who had diabetes and hypothyroidism. .

He died on the GMCH-32. A 36-year-old man from the Bapu Dham colony, who died of refractory shock sepsis and viral pneumonia on GMCH-32, also tested positive for Covid. Chandigarh has been reporting an increase in coronavirus cases since early September, consistently reporting more than 200 new cases each day. The UT has reported 922 new cases this month.
