In a virtual briefing, President VK Yadav announced the dates and said that the examinations will be carried out to fill about 1.4 lakh of positions in popular non-technical categories (guards, secretaries, etc.), isolated and ministerial and level 1 (track maintainers, pointer, etc.).
RRB NTPC, Group D or Level 1 exam and the isolated and ministerial exams were announced in February 2019.
There are 35,208 openings for NTPC (popular non-technical categories such as guards, clerks, business employees, etc.), 1,663 for isolated and ministerial categories (Steno & Teaches, etc.) and 103,769 for level 1 vacancies (track maintainers, bodyguards, etc.).
Standard operating procedures are being developed to conduct examinations of this magnitude. It is necessary to follow the rules of social distancing and other protocols prescribed by the different central and state authorities that are fundamental in the interest of the safety of the candidates, said an official statement.
In August, the Union Cabinet approved the formation of a National Recruitment Agency (NRA) to conduct examinations for government organizations and, in the initial phase, will carry out the examination for railways.
