The sharp increase in Covid cases continued unabated with 215 cases and two deaths reported today, bringing the total number of positive cases to 6,830 and mortality to 48.

Cybercell Mandi closed

  • The police cyber cell in the Mandi district was closed for two days starting Friday.
  • A person accused of skipping the home quarantine tested positive for Covid-19 after joining the investigation with cyber cell officials on August 26.
  • The three members of the cell have been placed in home quarantine and will be evaluated in 5-6 days to take more measures in this regard.

Two deaths were reported from Nahan and Kangra, bringing the state’s Covid death count to 48. The highest number of 37 cases was reported from Kangra, followed by 35 from Solan, 33 from Chamba, and Sirmaur, 32 from Mandi, 20 from Una, eight from Shimla, seven from Hamirpur and Bilaspur each, and three from Kullu.

Solan first to cross the 1,500 mark

The vice chairman of the Jal Prabandhan Board was among 34 Covid cases detected in the Solan district today.

Solan is the first district to cross the 1,500 Covid mark and the highest number of 13 deaths has occurred in the district.

Solan Medical Health Officer Dr. NK Gupta said 14 cases from Solan and four from Parwanoo were reported. In the BBN area, 16 cases, including the son of the MLA from Nalagarh, a doctor from a private hospital, two from industrial units, and others from towns like Khera, Dharampur, Swaraj Majra, Bhud, Billanwali, Baddi, Nalagarh, Kishenpura, etc. . reported.

Cases at Sirmaur cross 1K

Sirmaur became the second district to cross the 1,000 mark in Covid cases today, with 32 new cases detected today.

The maximum of 23 cases was detected in Paonta Sahib, including eight from the forest colony. Sirmaur DC RK Pruthi said 11 cases were detected from the Tirupati health center in Paonta Sahib and the center had been closed for 48 hours.

70 year old dies in Nahan

A 70-year-old woman from Kishenpura village in Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur district, who had tested positive for Covid on Wednesday, died in Nahan last night.

DC Sirmaur, Dr. RK Pruthi, said the woman suffered from diabetes and was initially treated at the community health center, Paonta Sahib on September 1. However, she was referred to medical school the same night where she tested positive for Covid on September 2. It expired last night around 10:30 pm.

Deceased tests + ive in Kangra

A 53-year-old woman was taken to Palampur Civil Hospital on Friday, where she was pronounced dead. She was tested for coronavirus and it came back positive.
