The CBI today brought a three-member special team of AIIMS doctors from Delhi to the home of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in Mumbai for a forensic examination. The team will present its report after the visit, authorities said.
Meetu Singh, the sister of Sushant Singh Rajput, was also present along with the team. The actor’s assistants, Neeraj and Keshav, also accompanied them.
Last month, the CBI asked AIIMS for help in the death case. “Our priority will be to examine the case from the point of view of murder and, in general, all possible forms of death,” Dr. Sudhir Gupta, Head of Forensic Medicines at AIIMS at the time, told NDTV.
Multiple investigative agencies – the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate, the Office of Narcotics Control – are investigating the death case, which had sparked a debate about mental health issues.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra home on June 14. Mumbai police at the time had said that he had committed suicide.
In July, his family in Bihar accused his friend, Rhea Chakraborty, of mentally harassing him and driving him to suicide.
The CBI took over the investigation into the death last month after the Supreme Court asked the Mumbai police to hand over all the evidence it had gathered to the agency. “A fair, competent and impartial investigation” is the need of the moment to stop speculation, “the high court had said.
The NCB, which is investigating the drugs angle in the death case, arrested Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik and Sushant Singh Rajput’s home manager Samuel Miranda on Friday after raiding their homes. early in the morning. Both will be presented today on the court.
The NCB has arrested seven people so far in this case, including Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda.
