New Delhi:

The BJP can win the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections alone as Prime Minister Narendra Modi enjoys massive support, Union Minister RK Singh said on Friday. While Singh, a state MP, tried to muffle the comment with the claim that his party respects the “alliance dharma,” his passing mention of the BJP’s hope of getting a bigger share in the deal-sharing deal. Seating can create tension with your ally Janata. Dal United or JDU.

“BJP can form a government on its own in Bihar. But one thing must be understood that we formed an alliance with JDU in 1996 and we have an old partnership, so why should we leave our partnership? We are not going to break our alliance. Having said that. , surely we are in a position to fight alone and form a government fighting alone. There should be no doubt about it, “Singh was quoted as saying by the ANI news agency.

“The support base of our party and our leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is strong in Bihar. There should be no question about it. But one thing is for sure: we will not leave our friends. Our association with JDU is so old. don’t leave it, “he added.

The JDU, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, had ended its 17-year alliance with BJP in 2013, but rejoined the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in 2017 after severing its ties with Lalu Yadav’s RJD.

The JDU-BJP combined contested the national elections in Bihar last year and won. Their relationship, however, deteriorated after the BJP offered only one Union Cabinet position to JDU, which was unacceptable to Kumar.

Last year, the BJP declared that it will contest the Bihar elections under Kumar’s leadership, in a move to appease its annoying ally.

“It is clear that based on the base of support, there should be shared seats between the BJP and JDU. If the parties take reality into consideration, then the weight of the BJP is greater,” said the bureaucrat-turned-politician.

The election of the 243 seats in the Bihar Assembly is scheduled for October-November. The mandate of the current Assembly will end on November 29.

The opposition and NDA ally, the Lok Janshakti Party, which has been targeting Kumar’s party for months, has demanded that the elections be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
