The guild drew attention to how the film industry generates employment by lakhs and has “embraced and embraced talents from all over the country.” The industry has also contributed generously to national causes in times of need, the letter adds.
“We do not deny the personal experiences of anyone in the industry, and undoubtedly many of those who enter the business and seek to establish themselves have faced numerous difficulties, struggles and disappointments in the course of building a career here,” the letter read, adding that the same happens in all professions.

The Producers Guild urged those seeking a career in film not to be “fooled by clickbait journalism” that portrays the industry as a terrible place to work. “However, a concerted effort has been made to highlight the film industry as one that specifically inhibits and prohibits new talent from abroad from flourishing. This couldn’t be further from the truth.
