CBSE exams 10th, 12th Class 10, 12 compartments: SC issues notice to board on student request for exam cancellation – education

On Friday, the Supreme Court issued a notice to CBSE regarding petitions filed by students in classes 10 and 12, seeking the cancellation of the sharing exams, which will be conducted for those who have failed or are seeking to improve in subjects in those that appeared.

A three-judge bench headed by Judge AM Khanwilkar issued the notice on student petitions led by Anika Samvedi. The Court ordered CBSE to submit its response before September 7 and published the matter for hearing on September 10.

These exams are supposed to show about 1.5 lakh from Class 10 students and about 87,000 students from Class 12.

The petitioners had submitted a representation to the CBSE to cancel the exams, but it was rejected on August 6. New petitions were filed against this August 6 decision.

Appearing for CBSE on Friday, defender Roopesh Kumar said that examinations of the compartment are likely to take place in late September and that all necessary precautions will be taken. He further said the board intends to have 1,278 test centers this time, up from 575 last year. Kumar also said that CBSE will arrange to seat only 12 students in a single classroom this year due to the pandemic.

The Court ordered CBSE to include this in an affidavit before the next hearing date.
