Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with members of the Indian Police Service (IPS) on parole via video conference on Friday and said they should be proud of their uniform and never lose their respect.
“Never lose respect for your khaki uniform. The human face in the khaki uniform has been etched in the public memory due to the good work done by the police especially during this Covid-19, ”he said during the ‘Dikshant Parade Event’ at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad .
Prime Minister Modi said he regularly interacts with young IPS officers who have passed out from the academy, but this year due to the coronavirus he was unable to meet with them.
“But I’m sure that during my tenure, I will surely meet all of you at some point,” he said.
Addressing IPS testers, PM Modi said: “Yours is a profession where the factor of encountering something unexpected is very high, and everyone needs to be alert and prepared for it. There is a higher degree of stress and that is why it is important to keep talking with your loved and close ones. Every once in a while, maybe on a day off, I meet someone like a teacher or someone whose advice you value. “
Prime Minister Modi urged policewomen to involve women in Jammu and Kashmir to prevent young people from engaging in terrorism at an early stage.
Responding to a woman on parole, Modi praised the people of the union territory, saying they were “lovely” people.
“I am very connected to these people. They treat you with so much love … we have to stop those who take the wrong path. Women can do that, ”he said.
He also noted that yoga and pranayama were great ways to beat stress.
A total of 131 probationary IPSs, including 28 probationary women, completed 42 weeks of training in Phase I of the Basic Course at the Academy.
They joined the Academy on December 17, 2018, after completing their Basic Course at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie and at the Dr. Marri Channa Reddy HRD Institute in Telangana, Hyderabad.
During the Basic Training Course at SVPNPA, the evidence has provided training in various interior and exterior subjects such as law, investigation, forensic medicine, leadership and management, criminology, public order and internal security.
