The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) issued the first statement on Thursday after taking over the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput factor. In the statement, CBI responded to the ‘fake news’ narrative and claimed that ‘no details have been shared’ with anyone.
The CBI also criticized “speculative reports” from some channels, clarifying that “no spokesperson or team member has spoken or shared details of the ongoing investigation with the media.” The CBI statement comes after some reports claimed that “CBI agents independently reported that they had not found any evidence of homicide in the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.”
STATEMENT
The CBI is conducting an investigation into the death of Sh. Sushant Singh Rajput systematically and professionally.
Certain media reports attributed to the CBI investigation are speculative and not based on fact. It is reiterated that, as a matter of policy, CBI does not share details of the ongoing investigation. The CBI spokesperson or any member of the team has not shared any details of the investigation with the media. The details that are reported and attributed to CBI are not credible.
The media is requested to confirm the CBI Spokesperson’s details before citing CBI.
CBI UPDATE
On Thursday, the CBI questioned the psychiatrist Susan Walker of the late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput for the first time on Thursday in connection with the death of the movie star. The investigative agency also questioned actress Rhea Chakraborty’s father for the third day in a row. Susan Walker arrived at the DRDO guesthouse in suburban Kalina, where the investigation team is stationed, around 1 p.m. and left the premises around 8 p.m. She was interrogated for the first time
Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty’s father, Indrajeet Chakraborty, arrived at the guest house around 10:30 a.m. in a car escorted by a police vehicle. He left the place around 3.30pm.
The actress, who was previously questioned for about 35 hours over four days, and her brother Showik Chakraborty, who was also questioned by the CBI, were not questioned Thursday. However, the investigation team questioned Rajput’s roommate Siddharth Pithani and domestic helper Deepesh Sawant during the day.
ABOUT THE CASE
After the Rajput’s disappearance, the Mumbai police recorded a case of accidental death and recorded statements from more than 50 people. Subsequently, the late actor’s father filed a police report in Patna, accusing Rhea Chakraborty and her family of being complicit in his suicide and embezzlement of his money.

Last month, the Supreme Court confirmed the transfer of the FIR hosted in Patna to the CBI. On Wednesday, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) said it arrested two suspected smugglers in connection with the drug trafficking case linked to the Rajput death case.
The role of Rhea Chakraborty’s brother and his alleged links to people captured by NCB are under the agency’s scanner and he is expected to be summoned for questioning soon, authorities said.
