75 employees in Sukhdev, Garam Dharam dhabas in Murthal tested positive; sealed: The Tribune India

Up to 65 employees of the famous Sukhdev dhaba in Murthal on NH-44 in Sonepat district tested positive for COVID-19, while 10 employees of neighboring Garam Dharam Dhaba, owned by movie star Dharmender, also tested positive for COVID-19 .

The Sonepat administration has ordered the duo dhabas sealed up to more orders and ordered to disinfect the restaurants.

According to available information, the district administration has started a special campaign for the sampling of workers in the dhabas in Murthal. Continuing the campaign, health teams have collected samples from approximately 300 workers from Sukhdev dhaba, of whom 65 tested positive for COVID.

The owner of Sukhdev dhaba called his workers from Bihar on a bus four days ago and told the health department to run his tests.

Dr. Geeta Dahiya, Deputy Civil Surgeon and Officer of Nodal, said that the Sukhdev dhaba workers came from outside and the report of some samples from the second came back positive. Additionally, some workers also tested positive in Garam-Dharam dhaba, he added.

All have been quarantined at home.

In particular, Amrik-Sukhdev Dhaba in Murthal is a favorite spot for travelers and every day a large influx of travelers is seen here, especially people from Delhi-NCR and Punjab.

Sonepat DC Shyam Lal Poonia said that a special campaign had been launched to test all workers in all dhabas and hotels in Murthal to verify the spread of the disease.
