The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which began investigating the drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput case last week, established links between his girlfriend and actor Rhea Chakraborty’s brother, Showik, and the alleged drug dealer. drug Zaid Vilatra, who has been arrested.

Anti-narcotics agency officials recovered from Vilatra’s possession foreign currency (USD 2,081, 180 British pounds, 15 dirhams) and Rs 9.55,750, which they said are “proceeds from drug trafficking.”

“Vilatra revealed that he has a restaurant in Bandra, which was not giving any pecuniary profit since closing. He also revealed that he sells drugs, especially buds (cured marijuana), through which he used to earn a substantial amount of money.” the NCB told the PTI news agency.

According to agency sources, Vilatra, 20, allegedly supplied cannabis to Showik Chakraborty and Rajput’s house manager Samuel Miranda, who were introduced to each by another middleman, 23-year-old Abdel Basit Parihar.

Parihar is currently being questioned by a team from the Narcotics Control Office in Mumbai and is expected to be arrested later that day, a senior agency source said.

Chakraborty and Miranda are expected to be summoned by the Office of Narcotics Control next, the official said, adding that investigators have found conversations between Parihar and Chakraborty related to the purchase and use of cannabis.

“Parihar was detained based on information from Vilatra. Abbas Lakhani, who was arrested last week along with Karan Arora for alleged drug trafficking, led the investigation team to Vilatra,” the NCB official said.

Some more drug traffickers based in Maharashtra, Delhi and Goa are also under the agency’s scanner, they said.

The Office of Narcotics Control began investigating the drug aspect of the case related to the death of Rajput after the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) flagged conversations between Ms Chakraborty and Goa-based hotelier Gaurav Arya about substances narcotic drugs, including cannabis.

In an interview with NDTV, actress Rhea Chakraborty said that she “has never used drugs in her life” and claimed that she tried to prevent Sushant Singh Rajput from using marijuana.

Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, was found dead in his apartment on June 14. Rhea Chakraborty, 28, her family and others are being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation, the DE and the NCB over allegations by Mr. Rajput’s family that she mentally harassed the actor, stole millions of rupees from his bank accounts and had a role in his death.
