A day before that, he had tweeted photos of his meeting with the coastal state Health Minister Vishwajit Rane, the Finance Minister and officials to review the management of the coronavirus in Goa.
Pramod Sawant was sworn in as Chief Minister of Goa in March last year after the death of his predecessor Manohar Parrikar.
Sawant is the fourth senior minister to have tested positive for coronavirus after his Karnataka counterpart BS Yediyurappa, Shivraj Singh Chouhan from Madhya Pradesh and ML Khattar from Haryana.
Goa has reported 18,006 COVID-19 cases so far; of these two are virus-related deaths.
