According to the investigation team, neither the statements of the key suspects nor the forensic reports hint at a homicide, and while the focus has shifted to the angle of suicide, the murder investigation has yet to be officially concluded.
After taking over the case from the Mumbai police, the CBI had reconstructed the scene at Sushant Singh Rajput’s home in Bandra. They have also been questioning the late actor’s girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, and her brother Showik. On Monday, CBI had also summoned Rhea’s parents and reportedly questioned them about her relationship with the late actor.
Simultaneously, the Directorate of Enforcement has been investigating the money laundering angle, after Sushant Singh Rajput’s father pointed out financial irregularities in the late actor’s bank account. And the Office of Narcotics Control is also looking into the drugs angle, with various WhatsApp exchanges hinting at the same thing.
