Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 was launched and is available for pre-order starting today. It is priced at $ 1,999 (roughly Rs 1.46 lakh), and Samsung says the smartphone will be available in 40 countries starting September 18. The second event for the phone was a bit puzzling, after Samsung showed off the device but left key details missing during August’s Galaxy Unpacked 2020. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is the third Samsung smartphone with a folding screen after the first generation of the Galaxy Fold and the next with the Galaxy Z Flip. The Galaxy Z Fold 2 features a similar design to the Galaxy Fold, but Samsung claims it has a much stronger and more durable hinge, and overall, it makes for a better smartphone overall.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a flagship smartphone, so naturally it runs on Qualcomm’s Samsung Exynos 990 or Snapdragon 865 chipsets. It now has larger screens: 6.2 inches on the outside and 7.6 inches (folding) on the inside, with the folding panel supporting fast 120Hz refresh rates. On the outside, at the rear, you also have a triple rear camera with three 12-megapixel cameras for wide-angle, ultra-wide and telephoto units. You can flip it over and turn it into a front camera too, although the 6.2-inch outer display has its own punch-hole selfie camera. Well that’s all of us here. India’s pricing and availability have yet to go up so you’ll be sure to let us know once you do. As of now, it seems certain that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 is coming to India, but definitely don’t expect it to be cheap.
That said, if you’re planning on buying it, we’re sure you’re not particularly concerned with buying “cheap” phones.

Samsung has clearly treated the Galaxy Z Fold 2 as a second-generation device, doing well what its first-generation Galaxy Fold did wrong. The front display looks uncluttered and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 looks quite cohesive. Maybe because we are used to seeing such a device now than before, but the Galaxy Z Fold 2 no longer seems jarring.
Samsung also says that it has changed the user interface quite a bit, so you can resize the app window however you like. That should make multitasking pretty good on the Galaxy Z Fold 2.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 has two front cameras, both perforated in design. One is on the outer screen and one is on the inner folding screen. The cameras also have Flex mode and Dual Preview, so you can play videos on both screens at the same time.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 has three 12MP rear cameras: wide-angle, ultra-wide, and telephoto. You can use it for a wide range of photos, or open the device, use the 6.2-inch front screen as a viewfinder, and take selfies.
Samsung brings Flex mode to the Galaxy Z Fold 2. You get better app support (more developers creating compatible apps), a seamless transition, and better screen folding angles thanks to the new hinge. Samsung claims that the point behind this mode is the consumption of hands-free entertainment.
Now we are learning why Samsung has made the changes that it has made in the third generation of the Galaxy Z Fold 2. To be quite clear all its reasoning.
