No electronic pass is required for movement between districts; private offices authorized to operate as of September 2


Mumbai: The government of Maharashtra Monday issued new guidelines to facilitate the flow of activities in the state as part of Mission Begin Again.

The new rules will go into effect on September 2 in areas outside of the containment zones.

Despite the fact that the central government has allowed the operation of the Metro railway as of September 7, the state government in its new guidelines mentioned that Metro services will remain prohibited throughout the state, in order to maintain the coronavirus Infection under control.

On the other hand, private offices will be able to operate with 30% strength. However, all employers should undertake awareness programs to educate employees to take proper precautions.

A surveillance officer will be appointed in each office to ensure that all regulations are followed.

All state government offices (excluding essential services) will be allowed to work 100% staffed (for officers A and Group B) and 30% staffed for non-Group A and Group personnel B.

There will be no restriction on movement between districts of people and goods, and no electronic permit or pass will be required for vehicles and people riding in them for such movements.

The movement of passengers in private buses, minibuses and other operators will be allowed. The corresponding SOP will be issued by the Maharashtra Transport Commissioner.

Private and public taxis and four-wheelers can run with four or three passengers, automatic rickshaws with two passengers, and two-wheelers with two people.

Hotels and lodges will be allowed to operate at 100 percent capacity. Separate SOPs will be issued to take the necessary precautions when operating these establishments.

However, schools, colleges, educational and training institutions will remain closed until September 30.

The operation of movie theaters, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theaters, bars, auditoriums, function rooms and similar places has also been prohibited.

Social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural and religious functions and gatherings have been banned to contain the spread of the virus.
