Mumbai:

Actress Rhea Chakraborty was questioned for the third day in a row Sunday about the death of her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput and was called back on Monday. She was seen leaving the government guesthouse in Mumbai, where the CBI set up its base after about eight hours on Sunday night. Her brother Showik Chakraborty was also called by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for the fourth day in a row for questioning in the case, an official said.

Rhea Chakraborty and her brother arrived at DRDO’s Kalina guesthouse in Santacruz, where the investigation team is stationed, around 10:30 a.m., he said. A Mumbai police vehicle escorted the car in which the two arrived at the guest house, he said.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s manager Samual Miranda and domestic helper Keshav also arrived at the guesthouse in the morning.

Previously, Rhea Chakraborty was questioned for nearly 10 hours on Friday and allowed to return home with a police escort as a large number of media personnel were present outside her building. They interrogated her for about seven hours on Saturday.

His brother has been being questioned by the CBI since Thursday.

On Saturday, the CBI also questioned Rajput’s roommate Siddharth Pithani, cook Neeraj Singh and accountant Rajat Mewati at the guesthouse.

Ms Chakraborty, 28, who dated the 34-year-old Rajput for a year and left their home on June 8, six days before he was found dead, was asked a series of questions including details of his relationship with Rajput and his family. why you left Mr Rajput’s home and if you had any contact with her after her departure.

The CBI, which took over the case following a Supreme Court order, is investigating allegations by the Rajput family that Chakraborty and his family mentally harassed the actor, took money from him and played a possible role in his death in June. .

In the case, at least three separate investigations are underway: the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Narcotics Control Office (NCB). The ED is investigating “suspicious financial transactions” involving millions of rupees, while the NCB is investigating drug-related allegations based on WhatsApp chats recovered from Ms. Chakraborty’s phone.

Ms Chakraborty has denied all charges, describing as “pathetic” allegations by Rajput’s father that she poisoned his son and stole money from him. Ms Chakraborty has also denied any connection to drugs (she claimed that Mr Rajput, however, used marijuana and was trying to quit) and said she “never charged a single rupee” from the late actor.
