“We would mention in the judicial process (the need) to consult a psychologist since her father had also admitted to me that she was depressed and her behavior was not normal,” said Pandey.
The police commissioner said the girl wrote ‘disqualified human’ on the bathroom mirror and similar words were scrawled in her notebook.
“The writing was not very clear, so it took time to understand. We compared the scribbled notes with the handwriting on the girl’s other notebooks that matched hers, ”she said.
“We will seek the opinion of forensic experts on these points,” he said.
Pandey said a dedicated team had been formed to contact the girl’s classmates, friends and teachers, who could reveal more about her behavior. A police team also spoke with the girl’s close relatives to find out about her, but nothing very conclusive emerged, he added.
The commissioner said initial findings suggested that she was a deserving student and was actively involved in sports such as shooting from a very young age. She was a trained marksman, she said, adding that the 22-caliber weapon used in the crime had already been recovered and was registered to her father. She said the shooters often used a weapon of similar caliber and that the girl was trained to use it.
On Saturday, the girl allegedly shot and killed her mother and older brother while they slept in their room in a bungalow below the limits of the city’s Gautampalli police station.
Relatives of the victims told reporters that it was the railway official’s birthday on Sunday and that his wife and son had planned to celebrate the occasion. The bodies of the two victims were cremated at the Baikunth Dham crematorium on Sunday afternoon.
