Mumbai: Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) that had registered a case under the NDPS law after obtaining the details of Rhea Chakraborty’s mobile chat, teams have prepared to blow up the drug ring suspected of working in the Bollywood industry .
NCB sources said they have received further conversations from Rhea Chakraborty’s mobile phone, where medications such as MDMA, CBD oil, Bud and Doobies are being discussed. The demand is suspected of being for acquisitions, an OCN official said.
OCN teams have already started collecting people from various areas of Mumbai to reach the source and destinations of this type of drug in Mumbai. The teams are also working in Goa because the network is suspected to have spread in both cities.
Four people were arrested by NCB detectives on Friday in Mumbai ‘s Bandra and two were found to be dealing in drugs “Bud”, which is a kind of marijuana plant, and may be arrested. OCN sources said more raids are taking place in Mumbai and Goa.
NCB officials also said they were trying to reach the network for these drugs that are discussed by Rhea and others. It has been suggested that these drugs are accessed in the Bollywood industry and there may be many other celebrities and stars who indulge in consuming these drugs.
The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) accessed various mobile chats from Rhea Chakraborty’s mobile phones and handed them over to NCB. On Tuesday, the NCB registered a case under the NDPS law and, in addition, a team from Delhi landed in Mumbai to start investigations.
NCB officials also said they would soon be able to send the notices to Rhea and others with whom she discovered they were talking about these prohibited drugs.
