Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir: Heavy rains in recent days have damaged several houses in the Thanamandi area of ​​the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“About 30 kutcha houses and 15 pucca have been partially damaged and roads have been affected by landslides due to rains in the last two days,” said Dr. Zakir Hussain, subdivision magistrate of the Thanna.

The locals have sought help from the administration and have requested to provide funds to rebuild the damaged houses.

“This rain has damaged people’s property and roads. A car has also been crushed by the landslide. The government must compensate the victims,” ​​said a local.

“Corn crops have been damaged due to heavy rains. Several houses have been damaged. Drains are overflowing in my area,” said Sarpanch Ali Mohammed.

Meanwhile, the concerned authorities are carrying out clean-up work at the damaged site.

Several teams of field officials have also arrived at the damaged site to assess losses due to heavy rains.

On August 27, the police issued an alert here, warning people not to move near any body of water after heavy rains.
