The new Unlock-4 guidelines for opening more activities in areas outside of the containment zones will go into effect on September 1.
The new guidelines are based on comments received from states and UT and extensive consultations with related ministries and central departments, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.
Meanwhile, state and union territory governments are also under orders not to impose any local blockades outside the containment zone without consulting the central government.
Now states / UTs will have to get permission from the Center before imposing any kind of local closures such as weekend closures, district / city closures or statewide “as such closures disrupted economic activity without any logic” said an Interior Ministry official.
