India Today has accessed the recorded statements of Siddharth Pithani to the Mumbai Police and the Directorate of Enforcement (ED). According to CBI sources, Siddharth has given a similar statement to the CBI, which is currently investigating the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput.
Siddharth was a friend of Sushant who also lived with the late actor in his flat in Bandra. In his deposition, Siddharth gave a detailed account of Sushant’s life, his relationship with his sisters, and most importantly, what happened between June 8 and June 14. Rhea Chakraborty left Sushant’s home on June 8. The actor was found dead in his Bandra. home on June 14.
Here is Siddharth’s detailed statement to the investigating agencies:
How Siddharth Met Sushant
I was working for Sacred Fig Design, a graphic design agency, as Creative Director in 2017. While working there, I got in touch with Ayush Sharma. Ayush was a close friend of Sushant. He asked me to come to Mumbai in search of better opportunities. I came to Mumbai in April 2019, Ayush took me to Sushant’s house in Capri Heights.
Stay with Sushant
Akanksha was the manager of Sushant. He asked me to work on Sushant’s Dreams 150 project. Ayush, Akanksha and I were going to work for this project. They told me that I would not receive money, but Sushant will take care of my daily needs and everything.
Sushant’s sister, Priyanka, was abusing and yelling at the staff so Dipesh and other staff members had left the house earlier. Once, me, Ayush and Akanksha, Akanksha’s sister, Sushant, Priyanka, Rhea, Rhea’s friend, and Sushant’s cooks went to the Pawna Dam farm for a picnic. We were there for 3-4 days. While we were there Priyanka and Rhea had a fight and Sushant sided with Rhea so Priyanka and her husband left Sushant’s house in 2-3 days. After that, Sushant asked me to go and stay with him and Ayush.
Was Capri Heights haunted?
While standing on the heights of Capri, Sushant felt that the house was haunted. Rhea and Showik also came to stay and felt the same way too.
Samuel was staying there and once Sushant asked for details of the expenses. Samuel couldn’t provide the details so Sushant got upset and then Samuel left the house. After he left, Sushant felt bad and was sad about it.
Sushant became uncomfortable in Capri Heights and moved to the Water Stones complex and began spending more time there. In August and September, Sushant was paying less attention to his work and began spending time with Rhea.
Then he also began to pay less attention to his Dreams 150 project. Sushant planned to visit Switzerland and France as part of the Dreams project with Rhea. By then, Ayush was gone. She returned to the lodge. My father’s business was not doing well in Hyderabad and I had to move to help him. I told Sushant that I would finish working in Hyderabad and come back.
Back to Mumbai
In January 2020, Sushant called me and asked me to come back saying that she plans to leave acting and wants to work on her Dreams 150 project. She also said that her mental health is not in good condition. But, I had just got a job in Ahmedabad where I was paid 45,000 rupees. He told me that this time they would pay me a salary and I went back to Mumbai and started to stay on Mont Blanc with him. When he saw me, he hugged me and started crying. He told me that he was going to sell all his belongings and leave the performance and start staying at the Pawna Dam farm. He had also told me that we will have to manage the household expenses within 30,000 rupees a month. He also told me that in Pawna Dam he would go into agriculture. He also told me that he had asked Dipesh to come and stay with him.
Rhea was shopping with Sushant’s card
When I asked Sushant about Rea, he burst into tears and said that everyone had left him. Then I told him that I would stay with him and reassured him. When I asked her manager Samuel Miranda about Rhea, he told me that Rhea does a lot of shopping with Sushant’s card. Miranda and Shruti Modi used to come at 10 in the morning and leave at 6 in the afternoon. The next day Dipesh came too and started to stay with us. Then Rea also came back. He told us that we had to take care of Sushant.
Chandigarh Travel
In the last week of January 2020, Sushant told me that she had to go and stay in Chandigarh for a month, at her sister’s house. Then Sushant, Meetu and bodyguard Sahil Sagar drove to Chandigarh while going to Chandigarh and stayed in Ahmedabad and Gurgaon. When we were in Gurgaon, Sushant suffered from respiratory problems. He looked very worried and shocked, so I gave him the pills prescribed by Dr. Chawda and he felt better. The next day, Sushant’s sister Neetu (Rani) called me and asked me about Sushant’s health. I gave him the pills that Dr. Kersi Chawda prescribed for me and then we went to the guest house. The next day, Sushant called me again and said that we had to go to Mumbai. When I went home, Sushant looked better, but Neetu told me to take care of Sushant’s health. After that, Sushant, his bodyguard and I went to Mumbai, but Meetu stayed in Chandigarh. After returning to Mumbai, he was giving Sushant the tablets prescribed by Dr. Chawda on a regular basis.
Sushant had also started working regularly and was feeling better and started staying with Rhea. At that time, director Anand Gandhi and Rumi Jaffery offered Sushant a movie. Sushant told me that she was feeling fine now and stopped taking medication. I told him not to stop taking the medication suddenly.
Sushant’s health deteriorated after June 8
Again in late April, Sushant’s health began to deteriorate. In June, the first week her health deteriorated further. She stopped talking to us. On June 8 at 11:30 am, Rhea packed her bags and left. Rhea asked me to take care of Sushant. Sushant hugged her and said goodbye to her. After a while, Sushant’s sister Meetu came home. That day, Meetu didi asked Sushant to eat, but he didn’t eat much. She was also asking Sushant to speak to us, but Sushant was not interested. When Meetu didi was at home, Sushant used to recall his past memories and cried several times.
Death of Disha Salian
When Sushant learned of Disha’s death, he was concerned after Sushant spoke to Cornerstone’s manager, Uday, because Shruti Modi had a leg injury. So for a few days Disha took care of Sushant’s work. News that Sushant’s manager committed suicide made Sushant uneasy.
He asked me to stay with him and sleep in his room and also asked me to inform him about Disha’s death. Then on June 10, Sushant asked me to delete all of his old video recordings etc. Sushant’s name was linked to his death and this led to additional stress for Sushant. As Sushant asked me, I deleted all data about his videos, songs, etc. from your hard drive.
June 12 and June 13
On June 12, Meetu said he missed his daughter and that’s why he left. On June 13, Sushant had to pay some bills, so Sushant paid for it from his mobile phone and I helped him do it. Then Sushant had a mango smoothie, but did not eat dinner.
June 14th
On June 14, between 10 and 10:30 in the morning, I arrived at the salon. I was listening to music on the music system. This time, Keshav came up to me and told me that Sushant was not opening the door. So, I went myself and knocked on his door, which he didn’t open. So I said this to Dipesh. We both started knocking on Sushant’s door. But it did not open. Around that time, Meetu called me and told me that she was calling Sushant but he was not answering the call.
I told him I was not responding to the knocks on his door. So, I asked Meetu didi to come to Sushant’s house quickly. We kept calling, but there was no answer, so Dipesh asked the guard to bring the key maker. But no one came, so I finally looked on the internet and got the Mohd Rafi lock and the key maker’s mobile number. I called him at 1:06 pm from my mobile, he said he would charge 2000 rupees. A picture of the lock was sent to you in which app. After that, I called Meetu didi and told him that we had called a key maker. At 1:20, Rafi and his assistant caught up and started to pick the lock, but it was taking time, so I asked Rafi to open it. As soon as the lock was broken, I gave him 2000 rupees and asked him to leave. Then Dipesh and I walked into the room. The room was dark, so we turned on the light on the left side.
Sushant was hanging from her ceiling fan wearing a green kurta. His legs were on the side of the bed and his face was toward the window. I immediately called Meetu didi and told him what had happened. At the same time I called 108 ambulances as well. I told them what had happened. At that point, I got a call from Sushant’s sister Neetu, she listened to everything and then put the phone away.
Then he called me back at some point and asked: Where has Sushant been kept? I told him he’s still hanging. On that occasion, I heard Neetu didi’s husband OP Singh ask Neetu didi to lower her body. So Neetu Didi asked me to bring Sushant down. Then I asked Niraj to bring a knife, after that Dipesh and I got on the bed. Dipesh held Sushant and then I cut the kurta she was hanging from.
After that we kept him on the opposite side of the bed. When we took him down, his head was on the bed, while his feet were on the floor. That time Meetu didi came home and asked me to check if Sushant was alive and also asked us to keep him properly in bed. Then Dipesh, Niraj and I kept our legs to the north and our heads to the south. Then Niraj removed the cloth from around his neck and set it aside. I tried to give him CPR but he did not respond and at that moment the Bandra police entered the house.
