The government is making efforts to introduce agriculture as a subject in secondary school, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reported during his speech when inaugurating the university buildings and administration of the Rani Lakshmi Bai Central Agricultural University in Jhansi on August 29. . During the launch of the university, Modi interacted with the students and motivated them to make the agricultural sector atmanirbhar (self-sufficient).

“We are trying to synchronize research with agriculture. Our goal is to make scientific research available to the smallest of small farmers. The university, young researchers and students can play a great role in this, ”Modi said in his speech. “Agriculture as a subject should be introduced at the middle level. It is important to bring agriculture-related education and its practical application to schools, ”said PM.

The university opened in 2014, however today it is formally inaugurated. It was operated from the Indian Grassland and Forage Research Institute, Jhansi, due to lack of infrastructure.

Today, the Minister of Education, formerly known as the Minister of Human Resource Development, Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, will also virtually lay the foundation stone for Odisha Central University.
