Actress Rhea Ckakraborty is being questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a second day on Saturday, a day after she was interrogated for more than 10 hours, in connection with the death of Sushant Singh Rajput.
Chakraborty, who is accused of being an accessory to the Rajput suicide, arrived at the DRDO guesthouse at 1.30pm, where she will be questioned again by CBI officials. She was reportedly questioned by a superintendent of a central agency police rank officer about various aspects of the case, the PTI quoted an official as saying.
Chakraborty, who appeared before the CBI for the first time on Friday, had left the DRDO guesthouse complex in Santacruz shortly after 9 p.m., an official said.
The CBI team, which has been in town for the past few days to investigate the Rajput death case, had recorded the statement from Rhea’s brother Showik Chakraborty on Thursday. So far she has questioned Rajput roommate Siddharth Pithani, cook Neeraj Singh, and domestic helper Deepesh Sawant, among others, as part of her investigation into the high-profile case.
The central agency has also recorded statements by the Rajput public accountant, Sandip Sridhar, and the accountant Rajat Mewati.
The agency, which took over the case following a Supreme Court order, is investigating accusations by the Rajput family that Chakraborty and others allegedly incited the Rajput’s suicide and misappropriated his money.
The 34-year-old actor was found dead in his flat in suburban Bandra on June 14.
