A soldier was killed in the line of duty during a counterterrorism operation in the Pulwama district of South Kashmir in which three terrorists belonging to Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) were shot dead, police said.
The encounter broke out after security forces launched a counterterrorism operation last night in the Zadoora area in the southern district of Kashmir. In the ensuing shooting, three terrorists from the terrorist group were killed, police said.
A member of the security forces was also killed in the shooting.

This is the second counterterrorism operation in the Union Territory in 24 hours. Four terrorists were neutralized and one was captured in the Kiloora area of the Shopian district in an encounter on Friday. Police said two of the dead terrorists were involved in the kidnapping and murder of a member of the BJP-affiliated panchayat.
