The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) which is investigating Rhea Chakraborty and three of her acquaintances under various sections of the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS), is prepared to arrest two providers of ‘bud’, the dried flower of the marijuana plant. It sells for almost 5,000 rupees a gram, a senior official told The Indian Express.
The sources said the two suppliers have been detained, with smuggling, and are likely to be arrested on Saturday, as the OCN investigates the “demand” and “supply” of drugs related to the case in which Chakraborty has been booked.
Chakraborty is also facing cases brought by the CBI and the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) in connection with the death of fellow actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
An official said: “Suppliers will be arrested on the charge of possession of narcotics. We will question them to find out who they supplied all the contraband to and what was Rhea’s role in this. “

Chakraborty’s attorney, Satish Maneshinde, had previously said in a statement: “Rhea has never used drugs in her life. She is ready for a blood test at any time. “No contraband has been discovered from Chakraborty’s possession.
The official said the outbreak, which generally comes from California, was a popular holiday drug and produced an instant high.

Officials claimed that the ED had recovered some deleted WhatsApp messages about drugs from Chakraborty’s phone, and shared the same with the BCN. On this basis, the NCB had registered an FIR.
The ED is also looking at an alleged money laundering angle in the Rajput’s death. Having questioned Chakraborty, his father, and his brother in connection with the case, the Emergency Department summoned Goa-based hotelier Gaurav Arya on Friday to appear at their Mumbai office on August 31. A team from the Emergency Department posted the summons outside the hotel run by Arya in Goa on Friday after they couldn’t find him.
Sources said Arya would be asked about the transactions, if any, she had with Chakraborty. Arya, who moved to Goa about a year ago and owns a resort in Anjuna, had previously told the media that she last spoke with Chakraborty about three years ago and that she had never trafficked narcotics.

On Friday, the CBI interrogated Chakraborty and his brother Showik for about 10 hours in an incitement to the suicide case brought against them. Showik had also been questioned on Thursday. The agency also questioned Rajput’s roommate Siddharth Pithani and his two cleaners.
The CBI has recreated the sequence of events on the day of the alleged Rajput suicide. They have forwarded the report of his autopsy, performed at Cooper Hospital in Mumbai, to a team of AIIMS doctors.
The CBI took over the case from the Bihar Police, who had registered an FIR against Chakraborty and his relatives based on the complaint from Rajput’s father.
