An illegal slaughterhouse of a close associate of gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari was demolished today by the Mau district administration in Uttar Pradesh. Mukhtar Ansari is Mau’s seated BSP MLA.

The slaughterhouse in the Greenland area of ​​the district belonged to Raees Qureshi, a close associate of Mr. Ansari, and was demolished today, Mau District Magistrate Gyan Prakash Tripathi said.

Other illegal constructions in the Greenland area will also be demolished soon, Tripathi said, adding that it was located near the banks of the Tamsa River for decades.

It was built by Raees Qureshi and the value of his property is said to be around Rs 40 lakh. The demolition was carried out in the presence of Circle Officer, City, Naresh Kumar and other officials.

Speaking in Lucknow, Additional Chief Secretary (Interior) Awanish Awasthi said that the illegal slaughterhouse linked to Mukhtar Ansari was demolished because it was illegally built on the embankment road. Police personnel have been stationed in large numbers near the demolished site, he added.

On Thursday, two buildings belonging to Ansari’s family were demolished in the exclusive Dalibagh area of ​​Lucknow.

The buildings in Dalibagh were built illegally on property belonging to those who had emigrated to Pakistan, according to a government spokesman.

The state government had recently confiscated property belonging to Mukhtar Ansari’s aides and has also suspended the gun licenses of four of his aides in Ghazipur.
