3,214 new cases, 248 deaths in Maharashtra


Mumbai: Maharashtra reported 3,214 new Kovid-19 cases on Tuesday, taking the number of Kovid-19 positive cases in the state to 1,39,010.

However, there are 62,833 active cases in the state and the total number of discharged patients so far is 69,631.

The state capital, Mumbai, the state’s largest contributor and the country’s coronovirus tally, today recorded 824 new cases taking the city’s tally to 68,410. With 42 new deaths today, Mumbai has a total of 3,844 deaths. There are 29982 active cases in Mumbai and 34576 patients have been recovered.

Thane is the next largest contributor with a total of Kovid-19 cases, 210 new cases were seen today with 26506 total cases and 751 total deaths. In Thane, 14988 active cases and 10766 patients have been recovered.

The state recorded 248 deaths today. The state’s public health department said 75 of these deaths occurred in the last 48 hours and the remaining 173 deaths. With this, the total number of deaths due to the disease in Maharashtra has reached 6531. The death rate in the state is 4.69%

Currently, 6,05,141 people are in domestic quarantine and 26,562 people are in institutional quarantine.

Out of 802775 laboratory samples, 1,39,010 have been tested positive for Kovid-19 to date (17.31%).
