The Nursing Entrance Examination was conducted on Sunday to fill 411 posts of Staff Nurse.

A picture of two coronovirus-positive medical staff writing the state nursing entrance exam in Punjab won hearts on the internet after it was shared by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh today.

Appreciating her courage and determination, the Chief Minister tweeted a photo of two nurses from Rajindara Hospital in Patiala, writing the exam in a face mask from the isolation center.

The state government gave permission and made provision to write the exam to the candidates after making unusual request before the nursing staff recruitment examination.

“Salute to the sentiment of these 2 young nurses from Rajindara Hospital, Patiala who tested positive for # Covid19. However, this did not disappoint them and the government agreed to their request to sit their exams only from the facility of isolation. #MissionFateh, “Captain Amarinder Singh tweeted from his official Twitter handle.

The young women are among several hospital health workers who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past few weeks.

The Nursing Entrance Examination was conducted on Sunday to fill 411 posts of staff nurses, who would be posted in various government hospitals in the state.

Although 8,547 candidates had registered for the nursing staff examination, only 7,381 candidates had appeared for the exam amid the coronovirus epidemic.

So far, 4,235 coronovirus cases have been reported in the state with 101 deaths in Punjab. 2,825 people have recovered from the disease while 21,300 have been released.
