Around 2.4 lakh ‘Tirupati laddus’ of the hill, a shrine of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala near here were sold on the first day of sales at subsidized rate, at the headquarters of the 12 districts of Andhra Pradesh on Monday, a temple official said.

However, the district of Guntur is banned the sale of laddus due to the serious Covid-19 impact and the actions that meant for the district was moved to near Vijayawada, he said.

The laddu, which has a price of Rs 50 each, was sold at Rs 25 as a token of gift to the devotees during the Covid-19 lockout period, he said.
