Union minister DV Sadananda Gowda who flew to Bengaluru from Delhi on Monday will not be subject to the institutional mandatory quarantine for all the frills of 6 hotspot of the states, claiming that he had immunity granted by his minister.
Gowda, the Union minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, and the former Head of the government of Karnataka, said that he had the exemption of the quarantine as their Pharma Ministry was part of the essential services.
Under Karnataka’s regulations of quarantine for arrivals by domestic flights Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Delhi, all passengers must be in institutions of quarantine of seven days, followed by seven days of quarantine at home if they are asymptomatic of the virus.
As the controversy began to fly with the Congress questioning of rape, the Karnataka department of health and family welfare amended its standard operating procedures for the quarantine of inter-state passengers, the granting of the exemption of quarantine to the ministers and officials of the government of the day.
