As India entered the 60th day of the nation-wide lockdown to contain the spread of the coronavirus, the Railway Ministry on Saturday said more special Shramik trains to stranded migrants in the different states in the next few days. In a press conference today, Railway Board chairman Vinod Kumar Yadav, said, “in the next 10 days, at least 36 lakh people migrants that travel in Shramik Special trains.”
More than 40 lakh migrants have travelled by Shramik Special trains for their respective towns and villages since May 1, and nearly 80 percent of train travel, have been made by the migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, told the Center.
Meanwhile, the Covid-19 cases in India saw the biggest upturn for the second consecutive day on Saturday with 6,654 of new infections in the last 24 hours, taking the figure to more than 1.25 lakh, while the number of victims rose to 3,720 after 137 more deaths, the Union Health Ministry, said. Active cases of the coronavirus rose to 69,597, while that 51,783 people who have recovered and that a patient has migrated, according to the ministry of the bulletin.

Pune dog lovers rescue pets abandoned due to the coronavirus fears
Dog lovers in the city of Pune Maharashtra have come to the rescue of the pets, especially the dogs of foreign breeds, which have been abandoned by their owners in out-of-place fears of infection by the coronavirus of them.
