For international arrivals, the guidelines mandate that all travelers prior to boarding the plane to India, “give a company that is subject to mandatory quarantine for 14 days — seven days paid institutional quarantine at its own cost, followed by the seven days of isolation in his home with self-monitoring of health.”
14 days of home quarantine may be allowed only in exceptional cases, such as “human anxiety, pregnancy, death in the family, serious illness and the parent(s) accompanied by children under the age of 10 years” on the part of recipient states. These passengers will necessarily need to use the Aarogya respective eras app.
The Center, however, has allowed states to develop their own isolation and quarantine protocols. This allows that different states have different protocols of entry, passengers must individually check before getting on a train, plane or bus. Travellers have also been advised to download the Aarogya respective eras of the application, but it is not mandatory for them, except for those who go for 14 days of quarantine at home when you return from abroad.
