India among the 10 worst countries in COVID-19 cases, 11 areas represent the 70% of the cases

With close to 7,000 cases in the past 24 hours, India overtook Iran to become the 10th largest focus of infection by the coronavirus in the entire world. India witnessed biggest rise in COVID-19 Sunday — the states added 6,977 fresh cases. The number of coronavirus patients in the country is located in the 1,38,526, according to the ministry of health and family welfare. The number of deaths in the country crossed 4,000 mark.

Maharashtra recorded the biggest upturn in the journal COVID-19 count the Sundays. The number of COVID-19 count surged past 50,000 in the state. The number of fatalities in the state increased to 1,635. Maharashtra was the worst affected state by coronavirus pandemic in India.

The number of COVID-19 cases went to 14,000 in the state of Gujarat. As many as 394 new cases were detected in the last 24 hours. With 29 new deaths, the number of victims rose to 858.

Tamil Nadu continued to add more than 700 coronavirus cases, even on a Sunday. Coronavirus-infected 16,277 in the state. Almost 50% of the total cases of coronavirus — 8,324 patients were discharged from the hospital after recovery in the state.

Delhi, the national capital of India, registered 508 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours. Coronaviruses account in the state rose to 13,418. The number of dead expanded to 261.

Meanwhile, India has improved its recovery rate of the coronavirus disease. Over 41% of the total cases of coronavirus — 57,721 people — were cured up to now. “The test of the capacity has been increased in both, and as on date, around 1,50,000 tests can be conducted every day,” said the Ministry release.

Eleven areas, which represent 70% of the cases

Eleven municipalities of seven states reported that 70% of all coronaviruses (COVID-19) of the reported cases of India, the Union health ministry, said Saturday. These municipal areas belonged to Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, and Rajasthan.

“The health-care infrastructure must be put in place in preparation for the next two months in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic,” the ministry conveyed to the eleven municipal areas.

The Centre urged the governments of the states of the seven states to intensify surveillance in the old cities, suburbs, and other high-density pockets such as camps and groups of migrant workers for the management of COVID-19 cases.

The central government pointed out that the test facilities should be improved in some municipal areas to ensure early detection of cases. The early detection of the cases will also help to initiate appropriate clinical management and to reduce the mortality rate, the ministry of health, he added.

Other problems that need focused attention include coordination with government and private laboratories to address delays in the collection of the sample, collaboration with the private hospitals to increase the health, the accommodation capacity, the elimination of waste and the disinfection of COVID positive areas, the ministry said.

Resumes the flight

India resumed flight operations today, after the suspension of air travel for nearly two months. “The states can also develop their own protocol for quarantine and isolation as per their own assessment,” the minister of civil aviation Hardeep Singh Puri, said.
