The union ministry of the interior allows for exemptions from security lock to conduct the board exams for classes 10, 12

NEW DELHI: The Union ministry of home affairs has granted exemptions of blocking measures for the conduct of the board exams for classes 10 and 12, the Union home minister Amit Shah, said on Wednesday.

The interior ministry has already written to all state governments informing them about the exemptions given to the holding of the examinations throughout the country, with certain conditions.

“Taking into consideration the academic interests of a large number of students, it has been decided to grant exemption from blocking of measures to conduct the board examination for classes 10 and 12, with some conditions, such as social distancing, face mask, etc, for their security,” Amit Shah twitter.

In his letter to the chief secretaries of states and union territories, Union home secretary, Ajay Bhalla, said that under the guidelines on the blocking of the measures, the opening of schools has been prohibited and as a result of the annual board exams being conducted by the state education boards, CBSE, ICSE for classes 10 and 12 were suspended.

Bhalla said that requests were received from the governments of the states and CBSE for conducting the board examinations and the matter has been examined in the ministry of the interior.

“Taking into consideration the academic interests of a large number of students, it has been decided to grant the exemption in the block of measures to conduct the board exams for classes 10 and 12,” he said.

However, the waiver of the conduct of the examinations board and shall be subject to the conditions that no examination centre will be permitted in areas of contention and face masks will be used by the teachers, staff, and students is mandatory.

In addition, there will be at the disposal of the thermal detection and sanitiser in the examination centres and the social distancing rules that have to be followed.

In view of the examinations to be conducted by different boards, consideration of the schedules should be staggered and special buses can be arranged by the states and territories of the Union for the transport of students to the examination centres, the secretary of the interior, he said.

The blockade was first announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on the 24th of March for 21 days in an attempt to fight against the coronavirus of the pandemic. Was first extended until May 3, and again until the 17 of May.The bull run has been extended until the 31 of May.
