IRCTC starts booking of 200 special trains: Everything you need to know | News of India

NEW DELHI: The Railways on Wednesday issued a list of 100 pairs of trains that will operate from 1 June, the start of operation of the popular trains like Durontos, Sampark Krantis, Jan Shatabdis and Poorva Express.
Here is everything you need to know about the IRCTCthe new series of trains —

  • This is the second series of special passenger services that have marked the Railways gradual restoration of its trains that were suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
  • While in a statement issued earlier, the Railways said that these trains have both AC and non-AC classes and entirely reserved to the trainers.
  • These trains will be “special trains run on the pattern of the regular trains”, which covers the tier 2 cities, and also from the major state capitals like Mumbai, Kolkata.
  • All these special trains have both classes in order to accommodate all classes of passengers. These include 17 Jan Shatabdi trains and five Duronto express trains.
  • The general (SG) of the coaches will also have reserved seats to sit on, which means that there will be no unreserved coach in these trains.

  • The rate will be normal. But the second seat(2) the fee will be charged for General (SG) of the coaches being reserved. The seats will be provided to all passengers.
  • These trains will run from the 1 of June and booking will start at 10 in the morning of May 21.
  • Only in-line e-ticketing is done through IRCTC website or through the Mobile Application, and no tickets can be reserved through the reservation counter in any train station.
  • The ARP (advance reservation period) will be a maximum of 30 days and RAC and waiting list will be generated as per existing rules.
  • However, waiting for the list of ticket-holders will not be allowed to board the train.
  • Not without reservations (UTS) tickets will be issued and no tickets will be issued to board a passenger during the trip.
  • Not tatkal and premium tatkal booking will be allowed.
  • The face cover/mask and Aarogya respective eras application will be mandatory, and passengers have to arrive at the station 90 minutes before the scheduled time of departure of the train.

  • Only asymptomatic, passengers can travel and those who are symptomatic will get a full refund.
  • All fees in these trains have been restored and concessions will be given to only four categories of Divyangjan and 11 categories of patients.
  • Passengers have also been asked to bring their own bed linen, and only packaged food items will be available in the underwear of the cars on the basis of payment.
  • These special services will be in addition to the existing Shramik special trains running from the 1 of May and of AC Special trains will run from the 12th of May.
  • Other regular passenger services, mail/express, passenger and suburban services will remain cancelled until a new council.
