Domestic flights Resume in India: The Center said Wednesday domestic flight services of the resumption of from this Monday, in a “calibrated way”, laying the basis for the gradual resumption of flights of scheduled commercial operations that have been closed from the 25th of March.
“The operations of the national civil aviation will recommence in a calibrated manner beginning Monday 25 May 2020. All airports and airlines are being told to be ready for operations from May 25. All national transport of passengers in the flight operations have been suspended by the 54-day lockout period that began on the 25th of March. However, cargo flights, medical evacuation flights and special flights approved by the regulator of aviation DGCA were allowed to operate.
Domestic civil aviation operations will recommence in a calibrated way from the Monday, May 25, 2020.
All airports and airlines are being told to be ready for operations from May 25.
Standard operating procedures for the movements of the passengers are also being separately issued by @MoCA_GoI.

The development occurs despite the fact that some state governments, including West Bengal and the state of Tamil Nadu, expressing its concern about the resumption of flight operations during the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the chief ministers. In addition to this, some state governments have been concerned that allows people from different places affected by Covid-19 to enter their borders.
A series of new rules and regulations are expected to be put in place that is going to change the experience of flight. These include mandatory social distancing in the airports, revisions in the way in which security procedures are carried out to ensure a minimum of contact, the use of masks and personal protective equipment for passengers and employees, among others. A new range of health checks can also be instituted that might result in more waiting time at the airports and the increase of the waiting times.
Earlier this month, in a communication to the managers of airports across the country, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has asked all airports in preparation for handling flight operations.
The issuance of a set of standard operating procedures, AAI of the directorate of operations, said: “Once the lockout period is declared over, the airports should be facilitating limited national/international flights scheduled in phases, to begin with, it may be 30 percent of their capacity to facilitate the necessary social distancing”. Added initially, the airline may be limited to the Level l cities and major Tier-ll cities.
The Center is looking at the possibility of making the Aarogya respective eras application is mandatory for the travelers to have installed on their phones, while taking on a flight. “If the proposal is approved in the ministry of Aviation, the passengers who do not have the app on your phone, you will not be allowed to board his flight,” PTI quoted an official as saying.
